Nobody Told Me is a memoir written by a woman spoken in a candid and eloquent manner. This book will provoke your mind into a world rarely ever spoken about, a world found after childbirth and deep within a battle inside a woman’s mind. This book will make you laugh and make you cry. It ultimately lets you know you are not alone, you are not the only one and that with help and support your life can turn around into the beautiful experience that being a mother should be.
Katherine Stone, of Postpartum Progress quotes, “Nobody told me either! I hope more and more mothers will add their voices, like Wendy, to the growing chorus of moms who say ‘nobody told me,’ until we become so loud that the world will wake up and start doing all that is necessary to educate and help new mothers.”
Wendy Isnardi has been a volunteer with the Postpartum Resource Center of New York since the birth of her first child in 2002. She has had extensive training in supporting those in need as well as numerous speaking engagements. She has been spotlighted as a guest on The Paula Zahn Show, CNN and contributed to several publications including Self Magazine 2006 “Will I Hurt The Baby?”.
Isnardi believes that Postpartum Depression should be a natural part of the educational process, not an afterthought. All women should be given the knowledge that is needed in order to confront this ordeal directly, before it is too late. No woman in this world should have to say the words ‘Nobody Told Me’ when it comes to Postpartum Depression or mood disorders following childbirth.
