Little Babe and the Big City Guide was born one night when pregnant with my first daughter, I scrambled to find listings and reviews for cool baby clothing stores in my neighborhood. I was too big and uncomfortable to waddle anywhere else. I was looking for a website for cool urban moms (uh, yea, I still try to think of myself this way) to find adorable clothes, fun baby toys, cool nursery furniture, and a great pediatrician in an easy searchable format. I started my own list and once my daughter was born, reviews expanded to infant music and gym classes and restaurants that didn't mind unfoldable Bugaboos.
Seattle was born when my "paying job" relocated me out to the Pacific Northwest. I then had my second little babe and was again in search of cool onesies, green baby toys and interesting classes. I also developed enormous respect for independent shops and boutiques that pushed the needle and offered a more urban edge to a baby landscape long dominated by pink butterflies and blue elephants. I'm not a rocker but I love bedazzled rhinestones, tie dye dresses for toddlers and Led Zeppelin onesies for my girls.
So I try to highlight all the innovative and interesting baby shops, classes and experiences that would provide local hip parents with a baby guide with a twist.
Little Babe Big City Guide is intended to help parents connect and share their reviews and experiences so please join our Hip Parents Club to receive our newsletter and make the most out of this resource by adding your own review to our listings and using our local message boards!!
